Employment Requirements
To work as a bail bondsman, a person must have a bail license and be registered with the state. To become a bail bondsman IN Montana the applicant must:
- Be a United States citizen or permanent legal resident
- Be at least 18 years old
- Reside in the state of Montana
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Have never been convicted or a felony
- Have never been convicted of a crime of moral turpitude, such as fraud
- Have never been convicted of any crime punishable by more than one year in prison
Bondsman Skillset
In addition to these requirements, a successful bail bondsman must possess certain personal qualities and skills. Strong communication and negotiation skills are vital, as this job involves interacting with a variety of individuals, including clients, law enforcement and court personnel.
As a bail bondsman you must be available 24/7 to meet the demands of our clients. This often means being ready to work odd hours and being on call during holidays and weekends.
